MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE

Marriage and Divorce

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Sirach 7: 25 Marry thy daughter, and so shalt thou have performed a weighty matter: but give her to a man of understanding.

Sirach 7: 26 Hast thou a wife after thy mind? forsake her not: but give not thyself over to a light woman.

Sirach 25: 1 In three things I was beautified, and stood up beautiful both before God and men: the unity of brethren, the love of neighbours, a man and a wife that agree together.

Sirach 36:24 He that getteth a wife beginneth a possession, a help like unto himself, and a pillar of rest.

Marriage is meant to be a forever institution, not a wham bam thank you maam. To often brother go from woman to woman like water this is called whoredom.

Tobit 8: 7 And now, O Lord, I take not this my sister for lust but uprightly: therefore mercifully ordain that we may become aged together.

To often brothers and sisters meet and are fixated on the outward appearance this is called lust and almost always ends badly.

Sirach 11: 2 Commend not a man for his beauty; neither abhor a man for his outward appearance.

Sirach 25:21  Stumble not at the beauty of a woman, and desire her not for pleasure.

At what age can a man marry?

Tobit 1: 9] Furthermore, when I was come to the age of a man, I married Anna of mine own kindred, and of her I begat Tobias.

Deuteronomy 24:5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

So the key to when a man can marry is the same as the age allowed to go to war.

Numbers 1:3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

Under the Old covenant once re-married the former wife could not go back to her first husband.

Deuteronomy 24: [1] When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
[2] And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife.
[3] And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
[4] Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Are Marriage documents according to the Law?

Sirach 42:7 Deliver all things in number and weight; and put all in writing that thou givest out, or receivest in.

Tobit 7: 13 Then he called his daughter Sara, and she came to her father, and he took her by the hand, and gave her to be wife to Tobias, saying, Behold, take her after the law of Moses, and lead her away to thy father. And he blessed them;
[14] And called Edna his wife, and took paper, and did write an instrument of covenants, and sealed it.

These verses prove marriage papers are according to the law, just as were divorce papers.

Deuteronomy 24: 1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

Baby mama drama

Amongst Blacks and Latinos you often hear “that’s my baby mama or that’s my baby daddy” these are code words for [NOT MARRIAGE MATERIAL]

Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
[5] And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Sirach 42:9 The father waketh for the daughter, when no man knoweth; and the care for her taketh away sleep: when she is young, lest she pass away the flower of her age; and being married, lest she should be hated:
[10] In her virginity, lest she should be defiled and gotten with child in her father’s house; and having an husband, lest she should misbehave herself; and when she is married, lest she should be barren.
[11] Keep a sure watch over a shameless daughter, lest she make thee a laughingstock to thine enemies, and a byword in the city, and a reproach among the people, and make thee ashamed before the multitude.

Sirach 26: 23 A wicked woman is given as a portion to a wicked man: but a godly woman is given to him that feareth the Lord.

Sirach 22: 5 She that is bold dishonoureth both her father and her husband, but they both shall despise her.

Sirach 25: 22 A woman, if she maintain her husband, is full of anger, impudence, and much reproach.
[23] A wicked woman abateth the courage, maketh an heavy countenance and a wounded heart: a woman that will not comfort her husband in distress maketh weak hands and feeble knees.

Proverbs 7: 10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
[11] (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

DIVORCE

Matthew 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
[8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
[9] And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. (proving the only reason for divorce in Christ is adultery/whoredom/sexual sins etc.)
[10] His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

Mark 10: [11] And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
[12] And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

1 Corinthians 7:38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.
[39] The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. (proving that when you repent and get married the sister is bound to that israelite man.)

1 Corinthians 7: 10] And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
[11] But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

So your spouse don’t believe

1 Corinthians 7: 12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
[13] And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
[14] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
[15] But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
